Saparya 2024
'SAPARYA 2024 - A Journey through Indian Art and Culture' The five day workshop was inaugurated on 23rd March, 2024.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest Prof.P R Kumara Kerala Varma , Retd Principal , Sree Swathi Thirunal Govt College of Music ,Thiruvananthapuram. CA Venugopal C Govind ,Chairman,Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,Kochi Kendra,Shri E Ramankutty,Director, CA Sankaranarayanan,Hon.Secretary, Shri P M Venkitaraman, Chief Finance Manager,Shri Dinesh Thampi, Management Committee member, Smt Meena Viswanathan, Chief Coordinator- Programmes,Smt Jaya Jacob , Coordinator , Bhavan's Research and Development Centre, Kochi Kendra , Smt Sunitha S , Academic Coordinator ,Smt Sukumari Menon, Smt Usha K ,Smt Vijayalakshmi N A,Education Officers ,Shri Unni Varier,Coordinator, Kerala Chapter Spic Macay , Principal Smt Parvathy E ,Vice Principal Smt Indrani Haridasan, Shri Rajmohan Varma, Coordinator , Kalabharati and the resource persons for various art forms - Shri Vamanan Namboothiri(Classical musician) Ustad Amjad Ali Khan (Hindustani musician) Smt. Akshatha M (Kathak dancer) Smt. Leena Mohanty(Odissi dancer) Shri K S Krishnan (Mural artist) R Meyyar (Clay sculptor)Shri Arjun Kaliprasad (Tabla artist) and Shri Avdesh Kumar Karn, (Madhubani artist) graced the occasion with their presence. The school choir rendered the prayer.
The warm welcome to the gathering was extended by Smt Sangeetha E K , Faculty , Department of English.Shri E Ramankutty, Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra, set the stage with his opening remarks, highlighting the significance of the occasion and the institution's commitment to education and cultural enrichment.CA Venugopal C Govind, Chairman , Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra presided over the function and honoured the Chief Guest with a Ponnada. He emphasized that art, culture, and education are deeply interwoven facets of human society, each influencing and enriching the others in myriad ways. Prof P R Kumara Kerala Varma, delivered an insightful address, sharing his wisdom and experiences from his illustrious career. His words were guiding beacon urging the participants to unlock their potential by embracing their core strengths.Shri C S Panchamakeshan, Central Coordinator and Advisor, Spic Macay, Delhi felicitated the students through his message which was read by Smt Indrani Haridasan, Vice Principal, Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Eroor. Smt. Meena Viswanathan, Chief Coordinator-Programmes, added to the jubilation by offering felicitation. Madam spoke at length about the significance of an event of this magnitude in the life of a student.She urged the students to learn ,imbibe and participate with enthusiasm and embrace this opportunity to enhance their creativity.Shri Unni Varier,Coordinator ,Kerala Chapter Spic Macay, provided an overview of "Saparya 2024 ," shedding light on the cultural significance and objectives of the initiative in promoting Indian arts and heritage. Wrapping up the proceedings,Smt.Rashmi Nagesh,Faculty,Department of Hindi ,proposed the Vote of Thanks.The five day programme will come to its closure on Wednesday, 27 March 2024.
